The amethyst
stone was very fashionable throughout the Victorian era. It was believed to
possess the power to protect the wearer and bring good luck. It also means
“Freedom from passion and care”. Luckily for those born in February, this is
their birthstone.
WOW! Rarely so I have the pleasure to present a bangle
with such exquisite design and stylingAND IN NEAR NEW CONDITION. IT REALLY IS VERY RARE. It is Stunning however this does not comes across in the pictures. It
is Imposing with the top adorned with a fancy inset framework border accented
by scroll and fleur-de-lys motifs framing a LARGE Amethyst Purple paste
stone – its colour is vibrant and dazzling!
The back is plain and smooth. This is a “hidden hinge”
bangle with the push button clasp and hinge in perfect working order.
It has the silky smooth feel usually only associated
with solid carat gold and expected of quality antique jewellery. The body of
the bangle has a warm rose gold hue
while the filigree/metal has a yellow Antique
hue so much nicer than the pictures suggest. The contrast is beautiful and complementary.
